What is a team? Briefly describe the three types of teams in organizations.

A team is a small group of people with complementary skills, who work actively together to achieve a purpose for which they hold themselves mutually accountable. Teams that recommend things are established to study specific problems and recommend solutions to them. Teams that run things are management teams consisting of people with the formal responsibility for leading other groups. Teams that make or do things are functional groups and work units that perform ongoing tasks, such as marketing or manufacturing.
