What impact does shared values have on the strength of an organization and its culture?

Since most behavior in organizations is strongly influenced by the organizational culture and the shared beliefs and values upon which it is based, those who advocate change must deal with underlying beliefs and values. Change that is woven into the organizational culture is viewed as "ours" instead of "theirs." When shared values exist there is a sense of unity which ultimately strengthens the culture and has a positive impact on the organizations long-term success.
