Tea Party

2. The Tea Party Movement (21st Century):
The Tea Party movement is a modern political movement in the United States that began in 2009, following the election of President Barack Obama. It is named after the historical event as a symbol of protest and American patriotism. The movement is known for its conservative positions and its advocacy for a reduction in the U.S. national debt and federal budget deficit by reducing government spending and taxes.

The Tea Party movement is not a single, unified party but rather a loose coalition of national and local groups that determine their own platforms and agendas. Although it lacks a central leadership structure, the movement has been associated with the Republican Party and has had a significant impact on its direction, pushing it further to the right. The Tea Party has been influential in the election of various politicians and has affected the political climate in the United States, particularly during the 2010 midterm elections, where it helped Republicans gain control of the House of Representatives.
