Examples will vary, but should show an accurate understanding of intercultural competence. For example, before having a meeting with a business executive from China, Francesca researched the culture of this country. She also asked a colleague who was born and raised in China about the customs and habits of these people. By doing this, she became aware of the verbal and nonverbal communication used by the Chinese. In addition, she learned some basic Chinese words to assist communication with the Chinese executive.
