When developing print materials, nutrition counselors should follow the interesting, clear, informative, and concise (ICIC) method. Describe the four stages involved in writing ICIC messages.

The first stage involves an ASOAP analysis. In this stage you must consider your audience you are writing for, the subject you are writing about, the objective of your communication, the angle of your communication, and where you will publish your communication. The second stage includes creating an outline and collecting recourses for your communication. A outline and resources will assist in writing a clear, concise, and organized piece of writing. The third stage includes writing the first draft. You cannot expect this draft to be your final version. The fourth and final stage is to polish your paper. During this stage, you will evaluate your paper for spelling, grammar, and punctuation; appropriate dating, numbering, and consistency; visual appeal; effectiveness and consistency of text enhancements; ad odd breaks or anything that reduces clarity of the paper.
