What does it mean to refer to a particular individual as a "serial monogamist"? Why do some people consider this practice as a form of non-monogamy?

This refers to a relationship pattern that has one monogamous relationship (whether long-term or short-term)following another.Of course,when the intervals between these exclusive relationships are short,the distinction between serial monogamy and monogamy is not always clear-cut.In fact,serial monogamists tend to have a series of short-term relationships,one after the other.Many sexuality scholars therefore identify serial monogamy as a form of,or replacement for,multiple-partner sexuality.In this sense,it could be considered a form of non-monogamy.If the serial monogamist has multiple sexual partners,with each partner separated merely by linear time,we may even understand serial monogamy to be a kind of fictional monogamy.
