There are many different ways in which members of Congress can represent the American people.Define and discuss the differences between sociological and agency representation.Which type of representation do you think the U.S.Congress provides best,and why?

There are two components to this question.
a.Sociological and agency representation: Sociological representation is a type of representation in which representatives have the same racial,gender,ethnic,or religious backgrounds as their constituents.It is based on the principle that if two individuals are similar in these ways,then one can correctly represent the other's views.Agency representation is a type of representation in which a representative is held accountable if he or she fails to represent his or her constituency properly.
b.U.S.Congress: The Congress does not provide very high levels of sociological representation given its underrepresentation of women and racial and ethnic minorities.There is evidence,however,that Congress is able to take account of a diversity of views and interests despite a lack of sociological representation (which may be due to the agency representation provided by the Constitution).
