The availability of cutting-edge videoconferencing technology and IM has rendered face-to-face interaction obsolete and unnecessary.

While videoconferencing technology and IM have certainly made communication easier and more efficient, they cannot replace the value and importance of face-to-face interaction. There are many nuances of communication that can only be conveyed through body language and facial expressions, and there are also many benefits to building relationships and trust through in-person interaction. While technology can enhance communication, it cannot replace it entirely.
