Breast milk is better for the baby because it facilitates appropriate weight gain and lowers the risk of childhood obesity to a moderate extent.The baby will have fewer problems with allergies,diarrhea,bacterial infections,ear infections,and respiratory infections.There is also a lower incidence of SIDS and childhood cancer,and breast feeding builds denser bones.Bottle feeding is easier if the mother is not well or is taking medications that can be transmitted through breast milk.It is easier if the mother works outside of the home and it also gives the father or other caregivers an opportunity to feed the baby.
