Should government subsidize corporate relocations?

No, research indicates that location subsidies are largely a waste of money. Seventy-five percent of businesses considering a new location end up going with their original, or first choice, anyway. For those companies, the subsidies are just a nice unearned windfall. For cities and governments, the subsidies represent a tremendous waste of taxpayer money.
