Research suggests that the nonverbal messages we convey through eye contact,facial expressions,tone,gestures,appearance,posture,personal space,etc.have more impact than our verbal messages.If our verbal and nonverbal messages match,we give the impression that we can be trusted and that what we are saying in believable.When the messages aren't consistent,the listener is more likely to believe the nonverbal messages.
