Neural activity is the same when stimuli are consciously perceived as compared to when they are not consciously perceived.

Research has shown that there are differences in neural activity when stimuli are consciously perceived versus when they are not. For example, when people are presented with subliminal stimuli (stimuli that are presented too quickly or too faintly to be consciously perceived), their brains may still register the information, but it does not lead to the same level of neural activity as when the stimuli are consciously perceived.
