In order for sensation to occur,one must be able to understand and comprehend the incoming stimuli.

Sensation refers to the process of receiving sensory information from the environment and converting it into signals that can be understood by the brain. Perception, on the other hand, refers to the process of interpreting and making sense of the sensory information. Therefore, sensation can occur even without comprehension or understanding of the incoming stimuli.
