If your client does not have readily available support in their immediate environment, what are some possible alternatives that can be explored?

If a client does not have readily available support in their immediate environment, the client can (1) locate a distant support buddy, (2) join clubs or organizations, (3) locate a social support group, and/or (4) take classes. A distant support buddy can be a relative, associate, or friend and the client and the support buddy can communicate via telephone, email, or text message. Clubs or organizations, social support groups, and classes can be related to the client's condition. Whether meetings are in person or virtual, the support or perceived support can assist clients to sustain behavior change.
