How can a nutrition counselor address a participant who reports an obviously incorrect comment?

If a participant reported an obviously incorrect comment, the nutrition counselor should gently acknowledge the comment as being incorrect and kindly offer the correct answer(s). For example, the nutrition counselor could say "that's great that it worked for you, but others have found . . . " or "that's one way of looking at it, but there are authorities that believe . . ." or "I see your point, but let's try looking at it this way." The nutrition counselor could also ask the rest of the group if they have any thoughts or comments as to what the correct response is.
