Explain what reconstructive memory is and how it can sometimes cause difficulties in our ability to accurately remember past events.

Reconstructive memory refers to the fact that memory is not a video-recorder, oftentimes we recall a memory and if we cannot fully access it, may build on the memory using schemata that we have stored for similar events. Individuals can have difficulty then recalling the actual, original memory versus the newly constructed one.
