Dissociative identity disorder is commonly known as schizophrenia.

Dissociative identity disorder (DID) and schizophrenia are two separate mental disorders. DID was previously called multiple personality disorder, and is characterized by the presence of two or more distinct identities or personality states. Schizophrenia, on the other hand, is a chronic and severe mental illness that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. It is not related to dissociative identity disorder.
