Describe some key features that make tropical rain forests the most productive biome.

Tropical rain forests have abundant, regular rainfall, a warm temperature, and little variation in day length, which allows photosynthesis to continue year-round. Of all land biomes, tropical forests have the greatest primary production. Per unit area, they remove more carbon from the atmosphere than other forests or grasslands. A tropical rain forest is also the most structurally complex and species-rich biome.
