Adults need to learn and adjust to the new norms, values, behaviors, and expectations that come with the new environment when they move from a familiar life situation to a new, unfamiliar one. This process is called resocialization. For example, if you move from a customer service job to a marketing job, you learn to move away from assisting clients to trying to persuade clients to purchase a product.
