Students may ans with any of the following: Path-goal theory is too complex and confusing to be useful; Path-goal theory has only received partial support from empirical research; Path-goal theory does not go far enough in explaining how leaders' behaviors affect followers' motivations; Path-goal theory puts so much emphasis on the leader's responsibility to the follower that it suggests followers may become overly-dependent on their leaders.
