1.By incorporating qualitative research into intervention design,one is able to further investigate matters that may have been otherwise difficult to examine.Through qualitative data collection methods (interviews,focus groups,etc.),one is able to examine the lived experiences of the target group or intended audience.Through direct contact with the intended audience,one is able to assess what is needed,as well as what is considered effective or helpful for this particular community.Qualitative methods can capture the experience of intervention participants in a much more nuanced way than purely quantitative data.
2.One is able to modify interventions based on the results of the qualitative study.The qualitative results may present findings that would not have been generated through questionnaires or quantitative methods.Due to this,the researchers are able to learn more about their participants,thereby modifying their interventions accordingly.Through consultation with the intended audience,the designers are able to make improvements and constant revisions to their work.
