Social forces, such as cultural norms, prejudices, and social status, still constrain our choices to some degree. Even though we have more freedom to choose our partners than before, we are still influenced by the expectations and opinions of our families, peers, and wider society. For example, interracial or interfaith relationships may face resistance or disapproval from certain groups, limiting our options. Additionally, economic factors, education, and geographic location can further limit our choices. Therefore, while social forces do provide some choices, they also impose certain constraints that affect our romantic decisions.
